Breast cancer is the most common cancer type affecting American women and the second deadliest. This year alone, an estimated 276,480 new patients will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite major advances in early diagnosis and treatment, therapy options for aggressive breast cancers (i.e. recurrent, therapy resistant, and metastatic) are limited, which results in over 42,170 deaths each year. Our longstanding interest is to apply a multi-disciplinary approach to identify fundamental drivers in aggressive deadly breast cancer disease and evaluate novel therapeutics to improve patient outcome and reduce mortality.
